Cover Letter

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am looking for an entry level position in the creative field this winter. I am an experienced graphic designer in California and an upcoming student at San Francisco State University with the major of Visual Communications. I will be spending the next couple of months in the Bay Area and am looking for employment. I have prior experience as a freelance graphic designer working for various clients across Marin County. I have an expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe and Macromedia Suites, and a high degree of overall computer literacy. I am disciplined, focused and looking to get real world experience in the creative field and for this reason I am applying for a position in your firm.

I completed a vigorous summer session (California State Summer School of the Arts) at CalArts in La Jolla, CA and have won a few awards in video production after a two year grueling program at my high school’s AIM (Academy of Integrated Studies and Media) while being a fulltime high school student at Tamalpais High School. After I graduate from college I intend to get my Masters in Fine Art. I am looking forward to working with experienced web developers and designers who could provide me a better insight into the design profession while I am still in college.
